Latest news:Transformation of Community Wise 1960s flat-roofed concrete premises continues ... a recent donation of £275 from local supermarket Waitrose will go towards the renovation of the front stairs and stairwell. Starting now, the process will take three stages. Plastering the interior brick walls is complete and a new wrought iron balustrade is on order. Glass panels and ash wood decoration will complete the new look. A grant from EDF Energy Green Fund enabled Community Wise to commission the Energy Centre for Sustainable Communities to undertake a Renewable Energy Options Appraisal. This appraisal has now been completed and Community Wise is seeking to implement the recommendations. These have been prioritised:Replace existing gas boiler with new energy efficient boiler. The existing boiler is 20 years old and has an efficiency of 60%. A new boiler would have an efficiency of 90%. Install flat roof insulation. Install Cavity wall insulation within the exterior walls. Install solar voltaic panels.
